Oregon Wild works to protect and restore Oregon’s wildlands, wildlife, and waters as an enduring legacy for future generations.

Founded in 1974, Oregon Wild represents the fish and wildlife, ancient forests, and rich diversity of public lands and landscapes that make this state so special. We work to protect and restore the parts of the natural world that do not have a human voice, while not forgetting that humans are interconnected with nature and its systems.

Every minute, the equivalent of one garbage truck of plastic is dumped into our ocean. In regions without waste collection, trash is either openly burned, dumped or piled onto poorly managed landfills, from where it eventually makes its way into nature. Plastic pollution is solved on land, not in the sea.

We need to build waste management systems where they don’t yet exist, to stop plastic waste before it gets burned, or ends up in landfills or oceans.

We need to use the best methods for treating plastic in the region where it’s collected and process it in the most environmentally sustainable way available.

Rob Tossberg founded Plan it Green Printing in 2003. His daughter was born right after 9/11, followed by his son which strengthened his belief system in finding an answer to this question: How do I want to leave this planet for my children and future generations?  Paper products and labeling products were not going to go away.  But we can make them better.  We can offer companies a more sustainable alternative.
